Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

Square Enix has announced plans to release a sequel for Final Fantasy VII. With FF7 being a favorite for a large group of the Final Fantasy series, the prospect of a sequel has been rumored for a long time. The announcement, however, was not what was expected.

Rather than releasing another game featuring a Final Fantasy storyline sequel (as Square Enix is now doing with Final Fantasy X-2), the company is releasing an hour-long CG movie on DVD.

The storyline for the film, called Advent Children, takes place two years after the events in Final Fantasy VII. Many of the same characters will return in the movie.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will release on April 25, 2006 in North America.
