Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion box art, hard drive details

New stuff for the highly-anticipated Xbox 360 sequel to Morrowind

August 19, 2005

Bethesda Softworks released an image of the box art for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, the upcoming RPG for the Xbox 360.

Bethesda also commented on the use of the Xbox 360 hard drive, after Microsoft announced that it will have two versions of the Xbox 360, one with and one without the drive.

"We've known since day one that there would be versions of the 360 without a hard drive, so Oblivion will still work on every 360," said Todd Howard, executive producer of the game. "That being said, Oblivion takes full advantage of the hard drive and uses it extensively, so we'd certainly recommend that everyone gets one."

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is planned to be released this holiday season, briefly following the release of the Xbox 360 system.

Oblivion doesn't waste any of the Xbox 360's power. Take a look at these screenshots. Bethesda confirms that they're the actual level of detail in-game.
