Final Fantasy V and VI coming to an Advance near you
Game Boy Advance ports of the games to be released for GBA
October 7, 2005
It seems that Square Enix is taking the entire FF line into the Nintendo handheld world. Final Fantasy I and II have already been released as Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls on the Game Boy Advance. The compay has just announced a Nintendo DS remake of FF3, titled Final Fantasy IIID. Plans for a Final Fantasy VI port on the GBA have already been announced, and now Square Enix is following up with Final Fantasy V and VI.
That's a lot of Final Fantasy in such little packages. The re-releases, though, will be a fantastic opportunity for Square. There are still tons of Final Fantasy fans who joined the hype with the first 3D title in the series, Final Fantasy VII on the Sony PlayStation. The new releases of the classics gives them a chance to explore the roots, without having to downgrade their technology.
Final Fantasy IV was announced for a December release — so far there has been no word on dates for these two games, or on Final Fantasy IIID.
