Nintendo swats Zelda delay rumors

Rumors of Twilight Princess' Revolution plans are pure speculation

January 6, 2006

Nintendo is fighting a recent rumor concerning its much-anticipated game, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Rumors recently surfaced that Nintendo is causing continual delays of the game's release while it works to add support for the controller configuration of its upcoming console, the Revolution.

Nintendo has made an official announcement that these rumors are pure speculation. The company insists that the game is still in development phases and will be released this year for its GameCube system.

Nintendo's Revolution console is set to be revealled at the E3 conference and expo in May and be released later this year. The system is said to be backwards-compatible with GameCube software. Meanwhile, Zelda: Twilight Princess was originally planned for release in late 2005, but was pushed back repeatedly. It would make sense that Nintendo would want the game to be perfectly compatible with its new system in an effort to boost sales, and Nintendo is not denying the reason for the delay.

Either way, no release date has been announced for Twilight Princess.
