Final Fantasy XI: Treasures of Aht Urhgan to come in April
Latest expansion for FFXI features new areas, jobs
January 27, 2006
Final Fantasy XI fans can finally add a little more to their gaming experience this April. Square Enix has announced that it will release the latest expansion for the game, Treasures of Aht Urhgan on April 18 for the PlayStation 2 and PC. It will also appear on the same day when the company releases the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XI, which contains all three expansions.

Among the treats enclosed in the expansion pack are two new jobs that players can try out and master. The first that was announced is the Blue Mage — a sword-bearing fighter that learns magical attacks from his enemies. The second is the Corsair, who equip multi-barreled revolvers known as hexaguns, and rely heavily on luck.
In addition to the jobs, there will be several new areas to explore as a new continent, Aradjiah, is uncovered. New areas include the Empire of Aht Urhgan, which dominates the continent, the deep-forest Mamook and the caverns of Arrapago Reef.
New missions tied to the expansion and a multitude of quests will also become available — obviously including the quests required to unlock the two new jobs.
