Famitsu declares Final Fantasy XII perfect

FF12 becomes the sixth game to get a 40/40 score by the Japanese magazine

March 9, 2006

In a move that can only bring more hype to an already highly anticipated game, Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has given Final Fantasy XII a perfect score of 40/40. That's a big deal to some, as Famitsu is known for its tough review panel, and has only given the perfect score to five other games.

Reportedly, the reviewers were very impressed with all aspects of the game, from story to graphics to gameplay, but were especially impressed with the fresh style that Final Fantasy XII brings to the series. This is the game that will revitalize an already-thriving Final Fantasy.

So Final Fantasy XII joins the Famitsu perfect score 'club', along with the previous five titles: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Vagrant Story, Soul Calibur, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Nintendogs.

Final Fanasy XI is scheduled to be released on March 16 in Japan, and later this year in North America (probably in August).
