Puppetmaster Job Among Final Fantasy XI Expansion Revelations
Final Fantasy XI Fan Festival reveals new details on Treasures of Aht Urghan Updates
March 11, 2006
A number of new details about Final Fantasy XI's upcoming expansion, Treasures of Aht Urhgan, are emerging from the Final Fantasy XI Fan Festival which is going on this weekend. Perhaps the most exciting piece of news is the revelation of the third job that will be added to the game, the Puppetmaster.

Final Fantasy XI Puppetmaster
The Puppetmaster will join the previously announced jobs, Blue Mage and Corsair, bringing the total number of jobs in Final Fantasy XI up to eighteen. Treasures of Aht Urhgan will also add new missions and quests to the game, as well as a newly-discovered continent in Vana'diel.
New jobs, areas and areas aren't the only new things that will happen with the release of Treasures of Aht Urhgan. New additions will be made with an update to be released at the same time, which will involve both changes to current gameplay, and new features that will come with the expansion.
For example, the game's Chocobo system will be improved, including the option of raising your own Chocobo. It's been compared to Garndening by some of the show's attendees.
To yet again allow expanded storage of items, the Mog Locker will be added. This locker will require a recurring in-game fee.
A number of jobs will change slightly — mostly favourably — with the new expansion to ensure that the new jobs don't take away from current abilities.
The new expansion pack will be out April 18, 2006 on both the PC and the Sony PlayStation 2 platforms. Also released on the same day will be the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XI, which includes the Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion, as well as the two previous expansions: Rise of Zilart and Chains of Promathia.
