WoW expansion release date set for North America and Europe

Blizzard Entertainment has announced the release date for Burning Crusade, the latest expansion pack for the hit MMORPG World of Warcraft. The expansion is set to be released on January 16, 2007 in both North America and Europe.

The company also said that Australia, New Zeland, Korea and Singapore will see Burning Crusade in early 2007.

"With this expansion, we're looking forward to offering the same level of quality that players have experienced in World of Warcraft so far," said Mike Morhaime, president of Blizzard. "We'll continue balancing and play-testing up until launch to ensure that The Burning Crusade achieves that goal,"

World of Warcraft is the largest online RPG to date, with over 6 million players worldwide.
