Square Enix mentions idea of next Final Fantasy XI update

New 'large-scale' Salvage battle system will appear

Square Enix announced on its PlayOnline site that the next significant version update of its MMORPG Final Fantasy XI would be out in mid-December this year.

The update will bring in a new "large-scale battle system" called Salvage. Salvage will join Besieged and Assault, the new battle types that were added in the spring's Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion.

The update will also introduce more job adjustments, new chocobo raising features and new areas within the Aht Urhgan continent.
