Europe will see Final Fantasy III on the Nintendo DS next spring
FF3's release date announced for European regions
December 6, 2006
Square Enix has given an approximate release time frame for the Nintendo DS remake of Final Fantasy III in Europe. The game, which is already available in North America and Japan, will be released in Spring 2007.
Final Fantasy III's release on Nintendo's dual-screen handheld is the first legitimate appearance of the game outside of Japan. The original FFIII title was released in 1990 for the Nintendo Famicon, the Japanese version of the NES.
The Nintendo DS version of the game is re-made in full three-dimensional graphics with use of DS touch-screen features.
Final Fantasy III should not be confused with Final Fantasy VI. Square originally released the FF6 game as FF3 for the Super Nintendo in North America to keep continuity, as some of the earlier Final Fantasy games never made it to the U.S.
