Chocobos to star in Nintendo DS Final Fantasy spin-off

Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales will come to North America

Square Enix has revealled that Chocobo to Maho no Ehon (or Chocobo and the Magic Picture Book) will be released in North America. The Nintendo DS title was originally released in Japan on December 14, 2006, and is now being localized for the English-speaking market.

The English version will be released under the Final Fantasy brand as Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales.

The game follows the story of "Chocobo" and his allies (all modeled after traditional Final Fantasy job classes). The game will feature four-player minigames that can be played over Nintendo Wi-Fi, as well as a card game that makes up part of the battle system.

The game is expected to be released in April.
