Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales gets North American Release Date

Nintendo DS spin-off will appear in April

Square Enix has announced the North American release date for its upcoming Nintendo DS title, Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales. The game will ship to retailers on April 3, 2007.

Chocobo Tales is a spin-off of the popular Final Fantasy series of RPGs. Shinji Hashimoto, executive producer of the series, comments, "Since the game contains references to the series going back as far as [the original] Final Fantasy, I am confident that fans of both Final Fantasy and Nintendo alike will enjoy this exciting title."

The game, released as Chocobo to Maho no Ehon in Japan last year, was announced for the North American market last month.

Chocobo Tales makes heavy use of the touch-screen, as up to four players join together over Wi-Fi to play various mini-games.

The game carries an ESRB rating of "E" for Everyone, and will sell for $29.99 U.S.
