Final Fantasy XI: 2007 Edition announced

French and German versions of Square Enix MMORPG now available

Square Enix seems to be going for a record on how often it can re-bundle and re-release the same game. announced that it will release Final Fantasy XI: 2007 Edition to Europe at the end of March. The major component of this release is the new French and German versions of the game.

Prospective FFXI players speaking either of these languages don't need to wait for this release. By downloading a language patch from Square Enix, French and German players can go online and begin their online journey in their native tounge today. The service is free for anyone using a European version of the game (which seems to leave out French- and German-speaking players in North America, such as those in Québec, Canada).

2007 Edition will contain the core Final Fantasy XI game, as well as the three expansion packs that have since been released. The North American equivalent of this release is already available.
