Final Fantasy XIII will opt-out of E3

No demos, no trailer, nothing.

July 5, 2007

Square Enix announced to the world (via a 1up.com podcast) that it would not be promoting the highly-anticipated Final Fantasy XIII at the upcoming E3 trade show in Los Angeles.

E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, is an annual trade show for the video game industry, and the most common venue for sneak peeks of upcoming games as well as bombshell announcements from the industry's giants. As of this year, the event has been scaled back from a full-on media circus to a business-focused, invitation-only event.

Still, with Final Fantasy XIII as one of the most hyped games coming from Square Enix, and one of the most wanted games for the PS3, gamers are shocked to hear that the latest Final Fantasy won't appear at the event.

Final Fantasy XIII is part of a multi-title project that will see at least three titles set in a common world. FF13 is the first of these titles.

The game, which is PS3-exclusive has no set release date.
