PSP Final Fantasy Tactics gets Europe release date

The PlayStation Portable remake of Final Fantasy Tactics, will be released on October 5 across PAL territories, according to an announcement today from Square Enix.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions is an update to the original Tactics for Sony's PSP. The game is part of Square Enix's Ivalice Alliance project, which includes recent games set in the common world of Ivalice. The DS title Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings is also part of this project.

Tactics includes several updates to the original game, including new graphics, sound and cutscenes. New player classes and characters will also appear in the game, including some characters from Final Fantasy XII.

"Despite being portable, this is still the same epic 'Final Fantasy' experience that the series is famous for with stunning graphics, classic storytelling and a beautiful score," said Square Enix president John Yamamoto. "Fans of the FINAL FANTASY series are in for a treat this October."

The game will also reportedly hit North American shelves on October 9.
