New Final Fantasy XI Job Revealed

The 'Dancer' class will appear in Wings of the Goddess

Square Enix showed off new image at the Tokyo Game Show — depicting the next job that will be introduced in Final Fantasy XI this fall when the new expansion, Wings of the Goddess is released.

The new class is already being labeled as Dancer, although Square Enix hasn't made an official announcement with the name. Details about the job have not yet been announced.

Questions have arisen among players in the game, though, about how the job will differ from the existing Bard class. Bards use songs and instruments to provide support to their party, or to cast de-buffs on an enemy — and it's presumable that this new job will use song and dance in a similar way. It may be the case that bards and dancers can work together to enhance each other's abilities — although at this point, only speculation exists.

More details on this new job will be revealed as they emerge.

As announced yesterday, Wings of the Goddess will be released on November 22, 2007.
