Gravity gets rights to Ice Age MMO

You may just get the chance to play as your favourite extinct animals in Ice Age Online

Gravity, the company that created Ragnarok Online, has secured the rights to produce Ice Age Online, an MMO based on the Ice Age series of CG films.

Targeted for the a release in Q3 of 2009, Ice Age Online will be based on both Ice Age films from 20th Century Fox.

"We are thrilled to be embarking on this Ice Age project," said Il-Young Ryu, CEO of Gravity. "It is our aim to produce a great online game that will meet the expectations of all game users and 'Ice Age' fans throughout the world."

"In addition, Gravity has been pursuing detailed discussions with Fox to publish additional online game titles in the future," added Ryu.

No concrete details about the game have been announced. It can be assumed, though, that the game will be targeted at a younger audience than the traditional MMORPG.
