I’ve started finishing off some of the games I’ve left hanging lately.  Most notably, I finally completed the Shivering Isles expansion to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion yesterday.  The expansion has been out for quite a while at this point, but somewhere along the way I must have put it down and been distracted by something shiny.  (Perhaps it was my recent wedding.)

Needless to say, I was happy to finally clear up everything with Lord Sheogorath and take care of that whole Greymarch thing.  I won’t spoil the ending for those who haven’t played — but I think Shivering Isles was a worthwhile addition to Oblivion.

I also finished the campaigns in the real-time strategy game The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-Earth II for the Xbox 360.  This was a pretty fun game when I rented it a year ago, so I couldn’t resist picking it up when I found it in a discount bin at the local Wal-mart.  I found that the game’s designer’s did an excellent job of covering the complex RTS controls with the Xbox 360 gamer — but as I pointed out last summer, I would have preferred that they enabled the keyboard and mouse as an option for those that can use them.

But either way, it was fun to pick up some of my unfinished favourites and take them for another spin.
