Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

When Trodain Castle is robbed of a powerful, forbidden sceptre, its king and princess begin a journey to end the curse that has fallen upon their kingdom. With them travels the only surviving member of the king's guardsmen and a newly-just theif. Together, they seek out the jester Dhoulmagus to reclaim the sceptre and restore the kingdom.

Meanwhile, Dhoulmagus has plans of his own — to enhance his new power and become a force that the world has never seen. He begins to claim the lives of the noble to increase his own power.

Dragon Quest VIII tells this story through well-written dialogue, challenging battles and an impressive cel-shaded graphic design.
