Hero
Our main hero in Dragon Quest VIII doesn't have a set name — you define that for yourself at the beginning of the game. For the purposes of this site, we'll refer to him as "Hero".
So, Hero, is a servant of King Trode of Trodain. Apart from the transformed Trode and Medea, he's the only survivor of Dhoulmagus' attack on Trodain Castle. The reasons for his escape remain a mystery.
