Dragon Warrior IV

or Dragon Quest IV

As the world once again faces terrible danger, five companions must unite to stop the evil forces.

Draqon Warrior IV (Dragon Quest IV in Japan and on the Nintendo DS) introduced a new method of storytelling. The game is divided into five chapters. Each of the first four chapters tells the story of an individual who will later join the Hero in the final chapter. The first four set the stage for their meeting, and the final epic battle.

Dragon Warrior IV also introduced artificial intelligence into the battle system, allowing the player to set repeatable commands to the characters in the party, while controlling only the Hero directly.

In 2001, Dragon Quest IV was remade for the Sony PlayStation in Japan using the graphics engine from Dragon Quest VII.

Dragon Warrior IV was also remade for the Nintendo DS and released Worldwide under the original name Dragon Quest IV. The Nintendo DS version was made in 3D, like the PlayStation version, and had other graphics and sound improvements.
