The Elder Scrolls: Arena
The Emperor of Tamriel has been imprisoned in an alternate dimension and has been replaced by an imposter. In order to rescue the Emperor and restore him to his throne, our adventurer must restore the powerful Staff of Chaos and defeat the mage who has stolen the throne.
Arena is the first Elder Scrolls title from Bethesda Softworks. The game is an RPG played out in first-person, and includes a number of features that would define The Elder Scrolls series in the future, and influence RPGs to come.
In 2004, Bethesda made a downloadable copy of Arena free of charge to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the game.
