Dragoons are able to call a Wyvern into battle with them right from level 1. Their trusty dragon friends helps them in battle either by giving additional offensive force, or by healing their masters. Even if the dragon falls in battle, it can be summoned again—Call Wyvern is a 2-hour ability, meaning it can be used once every two hours.

Dragoon Quest Guide
Location: Northern San d'Oria
Provider: Oilheaurese, L-7
Requirements: Must be level 30+
Item(s) Needed: Wyvern Egg
To begin, speak with Arminibit in Port San d'Oria, in Cargo Room A (I-10). Then head to Bostauniex Oubliette and talk to Novalmauge. Then speak with Morjean in area L-7, who will allow you to speak with Oiheaurese who is located inside the Cathedral. Now you're on your way to get the egg, but first pick up a few pickaxes to dig up the egg in the AH.
You'll find excavation points in the Maze of Shakhrami (between G-7 and I-8). Once you dig up the egg, head back to the Cathedral, speak with Morjean. You have to do this quest with Yachemidot.
In the Meriphataud Mountains, head east (K-8) to the end of Drogaroga's Spine, and leave the egg in the unidentified spot. After you place the egg, a cut scene appears. Afterwards, head to San d'Oria and speak with Rahal (can be found in Chateau d'Oraguille, knight's quarters). Now you must head to the Ghelsba Outpost and defeat Cyranuce, in dragon form. The dragon is in a hut at (G-10) behind a "secret" door. It is highly suggested that you be at least level 30 to defeat the dragon, but if you can, try and get a few friends to do this at the same time. The dragon is pretty difficult. But once you defeat the dragon, you will be able to get baby wyvern, and you can now be a dragoon!
