Quests in Mhaura
In Final Fantasy XI quests are done in order to obtain Fame. When you have higher rank of fame, prices in shops will be reduced, new quests will be activated, and some of these quests will help you acquire very expensive items that you wouldn't be able to acquire otherwise.
Quests done in Mhaura will count for Fame in Windurst.
Trial by Lightning
NPC: Ripapa (I-9)-Mhaura
Reward: Ramuh. 10,000gil, Ramuh Staff, Lightning Ring, Lightning Belt.

Item(s) Needed: Tuning fork of Ramuh, Whisper of Storm
Repeatable: Yes
Ripapa talks to you about a strong force that his league was beaten by, but he has faith that you can beat this force and bring some light into their investigations. If you are doing the level 20 solo fight, talk to the taru-taru to be transported straight to the Cloister of Storms. If you are doing the prime fight, the Cloister of Storms can be found through Boyahda Tree. Once you have beaten Ramuh, return to Ripapa to recieve your choice of rewards.
A Potter's Preference
NPC: Nereus (I-8)
Reward: 2160gil
Requirments: None
Item(s) Needed: Gusgen Clay
Repeatable: Yes
Nereus needs Gusgen Claw for his pottery. You can find this in the Gusgen Mines (I-7 of the third map). It will appear near the pond as ???. Examine this to obtain your clay, and return it to Nereus for your gil reward.
Rycharde the Chef
NPC: Rycharde
Reward: 1500gil
Requirments: None

Repeatable: No
Start the quest by asking Numi Adaligo at the Governor's House (F-9) if there is anything you can do to help the city. She asks you to ask Take at the Sailor's Stay (I-8) if there is anything for you to do. When you ask Take, he dosen't have anything at the moment, but the chef Rycharde might. He wants 2 pieces of Dhalmel meat (dropped off of Dhalmels in Buburimu Peninsula or Tahrongi Canyon). Bring the meat to Rycharde and he will give you your gil reward.
Fisherman's Heart
NPC: Katsunaga
Reward: Knowing your fishing record
Requirments: Fishing Rank 3 or higher
Item(s) Needed: Gugru Tuna
Repeatable: Yes
Katsunaga likes to tell people how they are doing with fishing. You learn that Katsunaga loves Gugru Tuna. You can fish the tuna off the side of the Mhaura/Selbina bound ships. Give the tuna to Katsunaga and learn your fishing records.
The Sand Charm
NPC: Blandine (I-9)
Reward: Map of Bostaunieux Oubliette
Requirments: None
Item(s) Needed: Sand Charm
Repeatable: No
Blandine is worried about her husband. He left on the boat, and never came back. Speak with Celestina (her daughter) and you find out that the husband was wearing a Sand Charm. You can get the Sand Charms off the Crossbones that will sometimes attack the boat between Mhaura/Selbina. Once you give this to Blandine, you will get your reward.
