Samurai AF: A Thief in Norg!?
Myochin Kabuto (AF Helm)
To begin this quest, you must speak to Jaucribaix in Norg after finishing SAM AF2: Yomi Okuri.
You'll be sent off to find the sacred Myochin Kabuto helm, which has been stolen by a thief. Gilgamesh's operatives can help you, but you'll have to find them first. They are:
- Sanosuke: Port Jeuno, Duty Free Shop (Underground near the auction house). He points you to the next person, located in Mhaura.
- Phoochuchu: Mhaura, area H-8. You'll need to talk to her twice. The second time, she'll tell you that the helm's theif was headed to Bastok.
Head to Bastok Mines and go to the lower area. Open the house door at (J-6) and get a cutscene. The operative here tells you to help him investigate the Palborough Mines, which are located in the northeasternmost corner of North Gustaberg. Go all the way to the top floor of the mines and enter the Waughroon Shrine, which is located at the southernmost point of the top floor map. Another cutscene will play.
Return to Norg and speak with Gilgamesh to report what you've learned. He'll give you an item (the Banishing Charm) and instructs you to take it back to the Waugroon Shrine.
Now for the hard part: The BCNM fight. You'll want a strong party of 65's or so to defeat the three demons you'll meet inside.
Enter the shrine and trade the Banishing Charm to the Burning Circle. The fight begins after a cutscene. You'll be fighting three demons:
- Gaki (Black Mage): Gaki casts some very painful magic, so you'll want to have him killed first. He can't be silenced.
- Ransetsu (Dark Knight): Rasetsu will use Blood Weapon so be ready for it.
- Onki (Summoner): Onki summons the avatar Onibi, which is the only thing that can be slept here. Onki sometimes uses Astral Flow here.
You can't sleep or silence any of these demons (but you can sleep the avatar).
Once you defeat them, you'll acquire the key item "Charred Helm" in a cutscene. Before you head back to Norg, grab a Gold Thread, since you'll need this. Bring the helm to Jaucribaux, and he'll say that he can repair the helm, but that he'll need a Gold Thread. Give it to him, and he begins working on it. It'll take about one Earth day for him to complete the task, but once he does you'll enter a cutscene with Gilgamesh and be given the Myochin Kabuto, your AF helm.
