Zilart Mission 5
Headstone Pilgrimage
In the cutscene at the end of Zilart Mission 4, Grav'iton sends you off to collect eight fragments from around Vana'diel. These fragments can be found in various headstones around the world.
Each of these headstones must be examined to obtain a key item. These are occasionally easy to miss, even if you examine the headstone. Be sure you receive each key item (by viewing the message which says you have and by checking your list of Key Items) before continuing.
Water Fragment
Head to Ordelle's Caves by entering the cavern in the canyon at F-7. You'll need to walk down into the Canyon on the East side of the cliff at F-6.
This ZM5 map of Ordelle's Caves shows you the way through the caves. In words: Head down to the I-6 stairway and continue southwest through the tunnels to G-8 on the next map. Head East and take the tunnel off this map at H-9. Hug the left wall until you come to a hole in the ground at H-12, and go down. Then head East and continue along this tunnel until you arrive at a fork at I-6. Head left (South) and continue until you find a West-bound tunnel on the right wall at H-9. Follow this path until you exit into La Theine Plateau.
In La Theine, it gets easier as you just need to walk to the end of this canyon where you'll find the Water Headstone in a small indent in the cliff.
Ice Fragment
This fragment can be found in the Cloister of Frost in Fei'Yin.
Enter Fei'Yin through Beaucidine Glacier. Head to the stairs going down at G-9, and then head to I-5 to enter the Cloister of Frost. The Ice Headstone can be found at the back of this room.
A Summoner higher than 15 and the Mini Tuning Fork of Ice can warp here directly.

The Ice Headstone
Earth Fragment
Head to Western Altepa Desert and enter the Quicksand Caves at the J-9 entrance. Head through the caves until you arrive at K-6. Don't forget Sneak or Silent Oils here, since the Anticans and other baddies aggro to sound. At K-6 you'll find a hole through which you can fall. This path will take you back out to Western Altepa Desert.
Follow the tunnels until you arrive at H-9 where you'll find the Earth Headstone.
Examining any of the remaining headstones will pop Notorious Monsters (NMs) — be sure you have a party assembled before proceeding.
Light Fragment
Head to area J-9 in the Sanctuary of Zi'Tah, and then head north to find the Light Headstone at I-7. Examine it and the NM Doomed Pilgrims will appear. Kill him, and re-examine the headstone to get your fragment.
Wind Fragment
In Cape Teriggan (F-7) you can find a tunnel that's not on the map. Follow it North into the open and then head to G-5 to find another tunnel. Follow it and you'll find the Wind Headstone. A shadow NM Axesarion the Wanderer will pop. Kill it, re-examine the headstone and you're good.
Lightning Fragment
In Behemoth's Dominion, head to G-9 to find the headstone. (You may want to clear the area of any monsters that might aggro you.) Examine the headstone to bring forth two NMs: Legendary Weapon and Ancient Weapon. Kill them and re-examine the Lightning Headstone to obtain the fragment.
Fire Fragment
The biggest pain about getting to the Fire Headstone is the fact that you need to wander through Ifrit's Cauldron.
You'll need to enter Ifrit's Cauldron from G-6 of Yhoator Jungle. Pretty much anyone needs both Sneak and Invisible in here. It might be worth the cost of Silent Oils and Prism Powders just to keep everyone safe, and to keep your mages from having to continually recast.
Before you go, be sure to bring Ice Clusters. There are various Flame Spouts which block your path along the way. They will eventually drop without the clusters, but trading an Ice Cluster to it saves time.
You'll exit back into Yuhtunga Jungle where you can find the headstone. Two Opo-opo will spawn here: Tipha and Carthi. Kill them, and re-examine the Fire Headstone for the fragment.
You can collect these headstones in any order. Once you've collected all of them, a message will appear saying that all eight have been gathered. This mission is now complete and you're already flagged for the next one (ZM6).
