Final Fantasy Versus XIII

Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3) was first revealled at a Square Enix press conference before E3 in May 2006.

Square Enix's press release says of the game: "Harmony is realized in this alternate tale of Final Fantasy XIII". The game is not a sequel of Final Fantasy XII, but instead a completely independant storyline that takes place in the same universe. The characters will be different than in Final Fantasy XIII (although presumably there will be some sort of connection or overlap).

Final Fantasy Versus XIII is being developed as part of the overall FF13 project, which is called Fabula Nova Crystallis, which is latin for "New Tale of the Crystal". The project includes Final Fantasy XIII, as well as Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) and Final Fantasy Agito XIII (Cell Phones). These games will all take place in the same FFXIII universe.
