Final Fantasy XIII

Final Fantasy XIII (FF13) was first revealled at a Square Enix press conference before E3 in May 2006. This game was originally announced as a PlayStation 3 (PS3) exclusive title, but at 2008's E3, it was announced that the game would also be released for the Xbox 360.

Square Enix describes the game as "a tale of souls from a futuristic civilization illuminated by the Light of the Crystal". The game centers around Lightning, a young woman who formerly served with the military and has now been given a task by the Crystal.

Final Fantasy XIII is being developed as part of the overall FF13 project, which is called Fabula Nova Crystallis, Latin for "New Tale of the Crystal". The project includes Final Fantasy XIII, as well as Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3) and Final Fantasy Agito XIII (PSP). These games will all take place in the same universe and share a similar mythology, but will not be direclty connected in terms of storyline.
