Four children discover an ancient text, the Gran Grimoire, and begin to look through it. Mewt, the shy young child who purchased the book, reads aloud a passage from the book. The next morning, they wake up in a world that has been completely transformed…

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance returns to the world of Ivalice, which also appears in the earlier Tactics game, and later in Final Fantasy XII. The game follows the story of the four children who mistakenly changed the nature of the world, and must find a way to change it back.
