Final Fantasy Type-O
Final Fantasy Type-O (or FF Type Zero, formerly Final Fantasy Agito XIII) is a Sony PSP game first revealed at a Square Enix press conference before E3 in May 2006.
An action-RPG, Final Fantasy Type-0 features faster-paced action battles. It will also be the first PSP game to be released on two UMDs.
Final Fantasy Type-0 was originally being developed as part of the Final Fantasy XIII project, Fabula Nova Crystallis. At this time, it was called Final Fantasy Agito XIII, alongside the PS3 title Final Fantasy Versus XIII. However, the developers of the game have since taken it in a different direction, and since it does not tie in closely with the world of FF13, it has been re-titled as Final Fantasy Type-0.
The game was originally announced for mobile phones. There was some question as to whether or not Type-0. then Agito XIII would ever surface in North America, since mobile phone titles are less popular state-side. But in August 2008 it was announced that the game would be released for the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP).
Final Fantasy Type-0 is due out in Japan in the summer of 2011. A North American release will probably occur late 2011 or early 2012.
