Guild Wars

Guild Wars is an online MMORPG from ArenaNet and NCsoft. Unlike most MMOs, Guild Wars is made up of various episodes which can be played individually, rather than being sold as a single game with expansion packs. Additionally, Guild Wars does not charge a subscription fee, but instead charges only for purchase of each episode. Onse purchased, episodes can be played indefinitely (that is, as long as the game's servers remain online).

Guild Wars' episodes are called "campaigns", and to date three campaigns have been released: Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall. An expansion pack to the game, which extends any or all of the campaigns, was released in 2007 under the name Guild Wars: Eye of the North.

A sequel, Guild Wars has also been announced.
