Lost Odyssey

In the midst of battle, a war is interrupted as a meteor wipes the battlefield clean. A sole survivor emerges, apparently immortal and without any memory of his past…

Lost Odyssey is an RPG from Mistwalker, the company founded by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi. Lost Odyssey is Sakaguchi's third game since his departure from Square Enix. The game was released exclusively on the Microsoft Xbox 360.

The game takes place in a time where magic has recently been discovered, and is shaping a "magic industrial revolution" among the world's nations. The game beings on the battlefield, as a meteor appears and wipes out both sides. The incident appears to be an accident, caused by a malfunction in a magical device. Kaim, the game's hero, was the sole survivor of the crash. He is sent to investigate the problem, and begins to recover painful memories in the process.

Unique to Lost Odyssey is the collection of short stories that are discovered throughout the game. Called "A Thousand Years of Dreams", the thirty-four stories are unlocked each time Kaim uncovers a memory. The stories, or dreams as they are called in the game, can then be read at any time.

The game is also unusual in that it comes on four discs: containing more unique environments, dialogue and FMV cutscenes than the average Xbox 360 RPG. The music in the game was composed by Nobuo Uematsu, long-time composer of Final Fantasy music.

Lost Odyssey features voiceovers in English, Japanese, French, Italian and German.
