Super Mario RPG: Characters
Mario

This little plumber needs no introduction. Mario is, interestingly enough, the hero of this story and primary playable character. His special abilities include Jumping and Fireballs. Mario is well known by some of the characters for his jumping abilities, and can sometimes reach things that other people can't. His weapons include a hammer, a koopa shell or his own fists.
Mallow

Making his debut in Super Mario RPG, This young frog (…or marshmallow) was raised by the wise Frogfucius. He doesn't have alot of physical strength, but posesses strong magic powers. His ability to control weather comes in handy — either for his thunder attacks or his restorative rainfalls.
Geno

Geno's another new face in this game. This being from above takes the form of a young mushroom boy's doll to help Mario restore Star Road. Geno's physical strength and useful magic make him a strong ally.
Bowser

Bowser's presence in this game is not suprising. What's new here is that Bowser's a playable character… on your side. Mario's nemesis is forced out of his castle by Smithy, and wants nothing more than to regain his territory. He wants his castle back so much that he allies himself with our hero, Mario, to get it back. What Bowser lacks in magic he makes up for in brute strength. His weapons include gloves, chomps and even Mario, who he hurls at enemies.
Princess Toadstool

As the game begins, you must rescue the princess from Bowser. Things, however, are not as expected. Toadstoll is lost, and Bowser's Keep is taken over. But not to worry, you'll be rescuing her again, and she'll join your side. She's not much of a fighter, but her special abilities can heal your party quickly. She can be very valuable in long battles.
