Mass Effect 3
Mass Effect 3 is the planned conclusion to the series that began with Mass Effect in November 2007. BioWare has previously announced plans to make the Mass Effect series a trilogy.
Little is known about the nature of this game, considering that Mass Effect 2 is still in development.
A release has not been announced, but a late 2011 release would be consistent with the time between the release of Mass Effect and the planned release of Mass Effect 2. BioWare has stated that they hope to release their entire Mass Effect trilogy within a single console generation, meaning that Mass Effect 3 would have to be released before production of the Xbox 360 is halted.
Presumably, Mass Effect 3 will also make use of the save files from the first and second games, allowing you to continue using your character and experience continuity based on your choices in the previous installments.
