Blindsides

A blindside is a sneak attack in Star Ocean: The Last Hope which is completed by misdirecting an enemy and sneaking around to hit them from behind.

In order to complete a blindside, you must hold the (B) button (on the Xbox 360 version) until you're charged up. In order to complete the move, your target must be targeting you, and facing you. Once they are, and you're all charged up, tap the left analog stick to the left or right. When you do, the screen will lighten and a blue “?!” icon will appear above the enemy's head.

As soon as this happens, and your character starts to move, you need to hit an attack button, either the normal attack (A), or one of the triggers to pull off a special attack. If successful, the word “blindside” will appear on-screen.

Your character will then rush around behind the enemy and attack from behind.

Blindsides will result in a critical hit, and if the blindside attack defeats the enemy, you'll earn a critical finish tile for the bonus board, resulting in an experience points (EXP) multiplier.

Edge has battle trophies that can be earned by using blindsides, so be sure to use them frequently as you play through Star Ocean: The Last Hope.
